Dryer woes
Apr. 3rd, 2014 10:18 pmWith buying new appliances comes a new headache!
After all, you only find out the drain for the washing machine is not water-tight after you actually buy a washing machine, have it installed (for € 15,- they are more than welcome to drag it up two flights of stairs and a long gallery), and try it out for a first cycle...
Not only that, but my dryer is also malfunctioning. After the first wash & dry cycle I noticed a big puddle in my bathroom. I assumed it was the washing machine drain that was leaking, and thought no more of it. But after I had put down a bread tin to catch the water, the puddle was still forming. A short investigation later showed that the dryer was actually spouting the condensation water out the back, into the tiled wall.
Not quite as advertised...
Media Markt Online pointed towards Indesit and Indesit pointed towards Media Markt Online, who then promptly made a ticket to track the progress of my complaint. I actually received a phonecall today that Indesit will be contacting me shortly to send a mechanic my way.
I hope the mechanic is capable enough to ascertain what the problem is. I think it's that tiny tube in the back that is supposed to go into the condensation container that broke off. But that could just be me...

Date: 2014-04-07 06:07 am (UTC)They really should know better. The retailer (Media Markt in this case) is the one who deals with the customer, including complaints and warranty issues. 'tis the law.
