Bathroom pictures
Mar. 28th, 2014 01:50 pmWhen I last posted pictures of the before and after of my house, my bathroom was not yet in working order. Of course I couldn't move until I had a working bathroom, and once that time came there was moving to be done.
But now I've settled somewhat, I've taken a moment to get the phonecam pictures to my pc and I want to share the before and after picture with you.

AFTER!
The bathroom was a basic "wet cell" with pipes running across the walls. With a lot of help from Nachtvisser and Eisirt, we put the pipes into the wall, got a plasterer to make all the walls straight instead of curving like a balloon, and tiled over the old tiles.
I bought the tiles and supplies at Gamma, keeping my eye open for deals and using coupons when I could, saving nearly 300 euro on the bathroom alone. The 25% discount on the shower cell and bathroom cupboards helped a lot there. The floor tiles were 35% off.
It was one hell of a job, but if you're showering and squeeing over the mosaic tiles beneath your feet, I think it was worth it.
By now there's also a washer and dryer installed, so it's quite full. All that is missing is the overhead lamp that matches the bathroom cupboard. It should be coming in soon.
