Wow, back online
Aug. 9th, 2013 08:49 amIt's great to have internet up and running again. I had expected to blog more, but life has been pretty quiet since Drachenfest. I went back to work the Thursday after DF and I've already made a bunch of items for the store again.
Back home I went into a post-DF-manic-sewing-recession. I've been working so hard getting all the costume bits done for Drachenfest I literally fell into a black hole afterwards. Combined with an after-larp-dip the size of Poland and my energy reserves being completely depleted from the event, it wasn't pretty. Not having internet was, in a way, a blessing too, because it prevented me from scouring the forums frantically looking for more pictures and thankyous.
On Monday I cleaned my room. My desk holds my coffee maker and sometimes my rice (vegetable) cooker and it had some stains. My clean dishes are out of a cupboard so they get dusty and I cleaned my windows too, while I was busy anyways. Not having internet is good for my housewife-ship.
I also worked on a sleeveless lycra top and silk georgette tunic. I bought the silk fabric at Van Gool as a coupon (for € 18,- I had 130 cm of georgette and a good bit of jeans fabric, as they do 2nd coupon for free) and it turned out to be a lovely pink silk dream. Sewing it is pretty hard, but work has prepared me well enough, and I found out I had a rolled hem foot for my machine so I could polish my tiny rolled hem skills!
My gambeson did throw the timing of my sewing machine off and my serger needs sharpening of the knives, so I'm bringing the trusty machines to Veghel this evening for a check-up.
The rest of the time was filled with yoga, playing FreeCiv and watching Glee. But I'm back now!
(And I should have made a list of all the things I wanted to do after I got internet back, because I've promptly forgotten everything I needed to do online. *sigh*)
