janestarzMy dentist's visit this morning was pre-planned. There was a tiny cavity forming next to a filling, and after the x-rays the dentist decided I should come in this morning and have it filled. It wasn't anything big, and she'd combine it with a teeth cleaning to remove some calculus.
I realised I didn't nearly have the jitters for the dentist I used to have, and my time with the dentist in Woerden (who specialised in people who are afraid of the dentist) has paid off. The removal of my wisdom teeth last autumn also helped: the surgeons taking care of that tiny tidbit were very skilled and the removal itself was pain-free. The most annoying part about that experience was the anaesthetics and the stitches in my gums that I was playing with.
I'm done for another six months, my teeth are all shiny and clean again, and I rewarded myself with a lovely cup of coffee.

Date: 2013-02-11 09:16 am (UTC)Ik kreeg een afspraak met de mondhygiëniste voor een half uurtje, die tijd besteedde aan poetsgedrag en preventie. Even kleuren, uitleg over hoe je nog beter voor je tanden kunt zorgen en dan een stukje tandsteenverwijdering (wat ze vandaag ook weer gedaan hebben). Daarmee heb je weer een prachtig onderhouden gebit en weet je wat je knelpunten zijn. Tijdens de afspraak komt dan de tandarts binnenlopen die even 5 à 10 minuten kijkt voor gaatjes. Als er wat moet gebeuren, komt er een vervolgafspraak voor.
Ze zijn erg netjes, vragen ook steeds of het gaat en leggen uit wat ze aan het doen zijn, en ze hebben een televisietje boven je hoofd om je af te leiden (alleen zat daar bij mij toch vaak een tandarts voor).
