Voorjaarsschoonmaak
Jan. 2nd, 2013 09:42 amYesterday we opted not to travel to Nieuwerkerk for a New Year's party as the trip to our friends there would take us nearly two hours (one way). I love seeing Bigboss and Adenda, but I'm just not a big fan of long trips on the train.
We'd canceled well enough in advance (I hope) and prepared for staying in on New Year's eve and having a bit of food, and suddenly I received an e-mail from Twilightbanana and Steelweaver who wanted to come over on New Year's Day. We ate pancakes.
Since the turn of the year coincided with my monthly hormonal festival, I decided to do some jobs that are Once A Year things. Replacing the filter above the stove, for one. It's a job we all hate to do, and since you only do them once a year, you might as well do them at the start of the year, right? (I'm penciling it in on the calender on June first too, just in case.)
Today I'm taking down the drapes and washing them. The bottom part of the white curtains are getting brownish-black from cat hairs and -rubbings. Dusty loves to hide behind the curtains when we're watching TV, after all. We moved in a little over a year ago, so it's about time too. It's not my favorite job, but it makes your house smell like soap.
In other news, I've nearly finished my final WIP (summer coat), the stylus of my graphic tablet is broken but Steelweaver might have a replacement for me, and my internship starts in a week. Woohoo!
ETA: Cleaned windows, washed two sets of drapes, vacuumed behind the couch, upset the kitties, but I'm done now. Stick a fork in me.
