Finishing up

janestarzIn the past few days NoKey's been home and we worked out a schedule for the sewing machine. I promised him he could sit behind it when I'm taking a break, and he can use the drawing table for his pattern making. When he's done with that, I can go on to the next project(s) on the drawing table (tracing patterns and cutting pattern pieces) and he can use the atelier full time.
I just realised we could also just set up his Singer downstairs but he needs the serger too.
Before the realtor came over on Friday, I finished a pile of repairwork. I fixed holes in tunics, underwear, a pair of tights, the inside seam of my sports pants and the neckline of a turtleneck. It always feels good to iron a few blouses or finish a pile of repairwork, I find it very gratifying.
After finishing NoKey's hat, I also finished the second Gnomensok (still need to take pictures) and set up two new knitting projects. One has been unraveled and re-cast-on three times, before I had a format that worked for me, and the other is another sock project to remind me why I hate a 2x2 rib on double-points so much.
Today I hope to finish the jacket I'm making for Badger's Business, so I can pick up a final WIP in an attempt to finish it before the year ends. 2013 will not be the year of the WIP, so I must make use of 2012 as long as it lasts. Aside from a 'srappy' tunic or two, all of my WIPs but my spring coat are finished. It would be nice to have a new coat, even if it fits poorly, has no supporting interfacing and is just a bad excuse for something to wear while I get around to designing a new one in school.
Despite all the 'finishing' of projects it's just a 'regular' Monday for me. I set my alarm, we went to the dentist, NoKey's gone to PT, and I went to the supermarket. We'll stay up for the midnight year change, but as usual we're not very impressed by a new year rolling around. Gosh, we're boring.
