Lowlands Live: Leaving
Aug. 26th, 2002 11:07 amCruising through the Polder. Trying to find a way ashore. But why put up signs to major cities like Utrecht or Amsterdam? Instead, there are names like Nijkerk (like anyone gives a fuck).
Filter was good. Pretty loud and they must have had 15 guitars with them because they changed mic’s and guitars every song or two. The Breeders were okay, but Jaya the Cat wasn’t good at all. Danko Jones in the Charlie tent was fucking amazing! I don’t have words for it, really. I danced my ass off! I went wild. There were some deejays as well in several tents after the bands were done playing, and the Alpha had the whole poprock thing going. Meanwhile, in the Golf there was hiphop disco and in the Foxtrot (where Jaap wanted to go) there was dutch bad music. Smartlappen. *Vomit* I wasn’t in the mood for it.
I’ve seen some familiar faces at Lowlands: Rianne from my old Highschool, whom I hadn’t seen nor spoken to in three years. Mr. Grunt from Ede was there only because his sister had won tickets. Esther and Corrie from school. Tom, Martine and Wup from the Dutchelfwood group.
Jaap was a very nice guy indeed. Wouldn’t mind seeing him again. He has my phone number…
