Maerquin Short Adventure
Oct. 14th, 2012 09:11 pmBack in October we had a Short Adventure I've been meaning to write about, but only got around to now (hence backdated entry, to make sure all my LJ Memories are complete).
Yfke was on her own this time, leaving Siem behind in a tavern. There were a lot of new faces, but some familiar ones as well, including young Timmie the squire.
As the group walked into the forest, we encountered Necropriests from Zepultoera, sent to arrest Alex and Fedor. While Yfke is unsure about the Zepultoeran motivations, she also doesn't know if the allegations are true or false. She paid a nearby farmer to go report this to the authorities, after Alex and Fedor struck the Necropriests down.
They continued their journey, despite it all being a very bad idea. They walked through blindness and gave their life's breath to a witch to be able to enter the fortress of shadows, where someone was captured. Slowly, one by one, the rest of her friends disappeared until only an elf and she were left.
She gave up some memories in order to be able to leave the fortress, only to find that their life's breath was the witch's prized posession and they wouldn't be getting it back. Gasping for breath, Yfke fell, until the others killed the witch and her demonic creatures and their breaths were restored.
It was a pretty short adventure and to my idea mostly written for a few specific characters. I don't know if it was smart to follow into the blindness or even into the fortress of shadows, but you don't want to go through a lot of trouble to get to a short adventure to quit halfway through. And I hope the SLs will do something more with Fedor and Alex being reported to the magistrate.

Date: 2012-11-12 08:54 pm (UTC)To tell you the truth: Yfke should have turned back after the encounter with the hermit. It's just that I didn't want to go home and miss the rest of the adventure. But Yfke would never have stepped through a barrier that would leave her blind on someone else's promise. And the same happened with the Shadow fortress... giving up my life's breath to go inside somewhere? No way.
But you come to the forest to play a game, and if you make a decision to go on once, its easier to take it again. I still had a good time, but I need to rethink what I'll do next time Yfke finds herself in this situation.
