Bourgondisch Brabant

The weekend after Castlefest the Open Air museum in Eindhoven, where I am a volunteer, will be having an event called "Bourgondisch Brabant". The event will be a lot of fun, with workshops and storytelling, Johannes de Nar, brewing beer, baking pretzels, etc. etc. There will be more information about the first "Bourgondier": Hertog Jan van Brabant. (Wasn't he related to Aimée?)

The Historical Open Air Museum is much like the Archeon, with a noble homestead, a lovely inn, herb gardens, several houses from various times, etc. During the event the entire museum will be host to the festivities, swordfighting demonstrations by the Zwaardkring (where I train also).

I will be volunteering on the 11th, but the event lasts both days: 11 and 12 August 2012.
Entree fee for the museum is € 8,50 as far as I can tell from the website. Some more information about the event can be found here.

Anybody want to come visit?

In related news: My dress Apple has been approved for this event, and I am allowed to wear it in the museum. To have a dress be historically approved is a first for me, and although I need a new underdress (Carrot is just too bright), I can borrow one from the museum for the occasion.

I would love to come, as the "Home" is close to where my boyfriend lives, but unfortunately I will celebrate my 31st birthday at home on the 11th.

So I will have to pass, unfortunately...
