Trip around the world
Jul. 18th, 2012 11:53 pmOr so it feels like. Yesterday was a pretty lazy day, all things considered. After meeting our catsitter and showing her the ropes
anemoona came over for a day of fabric shopping. We drank tea (a luxury for me these days!) and then proceeded to two of the fabric stores in town. Too bad 't Lapke was closed for the holiday, but we then went to Van Gool where she found suitable fabrics and I picked up some remnants at a discount.
I worked frantically on the padded waffenrock (I can't find the English word) and my homework that evening so I could work on the final finishing touches on the waffenrock in the train today (It just looks so much better with a loose lining and hand-sewn straight-grain tape to finish the edges).
I took a pretty round trip: from Tilburg to Nieuwegein, to work with Tim and Sigil on some props for our Drachenfest ritual. From there, I went to school in Rotterdam. I showed off the Avatar costume which was deemed "cute" and of course some minor improvements were suggested and immediately implemented. I spent most of the lesson cutting my pattern pieces loose from one another, but then I was pretty tired from the public transport trip.
Tomorrow will see me with Diverteddreamer to get my dreads braided and after that I'll have all the time at home to pack, pack, pack. And finish the final 4 projects, if I can.
Work, work, work.
