School update
Jun. 7th, 2012 08:43 amIn case you ever wondered why I chose to go to *this* school exactly, this is it:
As for my own projects: my skirt is very nearly finished. I started it at the beginning of April and it's an A-line 8-panel skirt, flaring out from the hips. Of course, my hipline started 6 cm too low, but that is a matter of other students taking my measurements. I'm very happy it's nearly done so I can start on a new project soon. It also means that, weather allowing, I can wear it to Diverteddreamer's wedding next week. I still need to hem the lining and add a hook above the zip. This I can do this afternoon.

I went to the open house and saw they used canvas and padstitching as tailoring methods. "This is what I want to learn!" I thought, because I knew that it was the 'proper' way to do things. Even though it is a lot of work, the results are quite good, and it's worth it. The above picture is Mieke's collar for her wool coat.As for my own projects: my skirt is very nearly finished.
