Hallelujah Brothers and Sisters...
Dec. 19th, 2001 01:27 pmBorrowed this Peter Pan Speedrock from Caroline. Ofcourse it's a lame substitute for the real thing, but I'll manage. It relives old times.
Yesterday evening I came in school. When Dagmar and Bram arrived (the persons with whom I had to play) we built the mirror in the right spot, and readied the props (flask of beer, nuts, table).
Then, there was a warming up, in which some of the tension flows out. Arno (the director) does that well. He starts with slow clapping, and it builds up to an angry "Hey you" "Hey YOU!" and goes on to "hey" and "I love you". Then we pretend to have a dog, love it and kick it. Anyways, it releases some tension.
Dagmar Bram and I slipped out and went to a private classroom and Bram dressed up. (wearing the cutest dress black with little white dots from my closet). We made his face white, and practised the last scene one last time (which had to be redone a few times).
At eight pm we ran to the room, where the audience was anxiously awaiting. We ran through the opening scene one last time, and let the audience in.
All the actors sat on the floor, minding their own business. Watching the people come in. Roseanna had a little branch and was playing with that the way she would be in her piece of the play. I was first watching them, then I stood up and shook the hand of someone from the audience. And I sat back down. It was fun :)
The director introduced us, and then the real thing started.
(I'm skipping the other tiny intro and the plays from the other persons or else this is going to be a veeeeery long story. Besides, I didn't see the contents as much because I did music for one group, the lights for another, and was playing in the third. So I only saw-saw one play, the best and last)
Our piece went okay, I skipped a scene because we didn't rehearse that one. But we managed.
Afterwards, after the last piece we had a thrilling ending of the show where the music played "let the sunshine" and we said goodbye to the audience. And Bram, the evil person, with white face and black dress, ran out confused because he was the last one to end.
So that was my last night. How have you been?

This morning TommyCee cam in school and handed me a letter. Not just a letter but a Letter, with capital L. It is a 16-page epos on A5 format. With her thoughts typed out. I love it! She's been real busy with it and must have typed for 14 days to get it done (well that is my guess). She has put in poems, lyrics, and references to things she read and will read and so on.
Well, I'd better see if I can do anything in school today, and then it's over for the day. I've got this big wash to wash, let dry and fold. I need to do dishes, homework, clean my floor, empty the trash. I'm lucky I never clean the bathroom or toilet or otherwise I'd have to do that too. (Let's just say: they need to be cleaned but I won't. I just clean the toilet when I'm expecting family)
Sigh. Back to chatting it is then.
