Beriadanwen Light
Apr. 26th, 2012 10:16 pmDue to physical discomfort and the fact I no longer have a car at my disposal I have decided to pack Beriadanwen Light. I would really rather drag along a full rain-proof suit, but I'll have to stick with my leather armour and hope it will suffice. My helmet used to be great to ward off rain, but it was stolen by goblins*.
*) It really was.
Here's my packing list for the Omen special:
- Clean & dry socks, two pairs.
- Undies, pyjama's, toothbrush, pills, medication, elf ears, waterproof spirit gum (mastix).
- Two pairs of self-made leggings (Truestrike's leggings) since I still lack pants that fit me and match the costume. Legwarmers to make transition from leggins to mountaineering boots.
- One longsleeve, self-made.
- One turtleneck, just in case the long-sleeve gets wet.
- Beriadanwen's coat, freshly pressed.
- Unakite necklace and braided bracelet. Don't go to spirit-ridden places without them!
- Small 2-person tent. (The 190 cm long one, that I don't fit into properly)
- Sleeping bag.
- Sheep skin so I'll stay warmer at night.
- Two isolation mats to lie on in stead of an airbed.
- Knife, recently sharpened and rust stains removed thanks to NoKey.
- Wooden plate, bowl and RVS cup. Cutlery.
- Half-circle wool cloak. It will probably half-choke me because of shoulder padding, but it's better than Truestrike's wrap which will hang in the mud. It's also less fabric to take along. Both are good things.
- Time-in Longsword & knife, both in scabbards. Silicon spray,
- Leather armoured belt, leather armour.
- Sword belt.
If you put it like this, there's not a lot I'm leaving at home. Bow and arrows; I really don't have the space for them and they're quite lumpy and fragile and it's too wet to shoot safely in any case. It'll ruin my bow, bowstring, and arrows.
And I'm not taking more dry clothes than the bare minimum (one pair of dry underclothes/socks per day), hoping to keep my OT clothes dry enough to wear on Sunday. I'm still debating bringing my camera (far too wet, probably not a good idea).
I'm also going to bring a little treat, as this is, if I'm correct, my exact 100th event!
