Pocketspiece progression
Apr. 12th, 2012 01:02 pmA much-too rushed lesson, or so it feels like, but I finished the third welt pocket. This one is curved slightly and the welts are created on the bias and pressed into shape before attaching.

Please excuse the wrinkles, this thing gets folded and scrunched into a bag every second week.
We also spent some time on my first project: the skirt. I have just enough fabric for all the pattern pieces but even so I had to fold down some of the gussets slightly. It'll cost me 12 cm of hem width, but I think I can be forgiven for that. I now have to baste around the pattern pieces as homework, which will be tedious labour but at least it's something.
In other news: I have an introduction at a couturier on Monday in Den Haag. (And what does he mean by "bring your portfolio"? Is that actual pieces or just a book with photo's?) I could probably fit in coffee or an early dinner somewhere in between that talk and school in the evening, if anyone is interested.

Maar het kan geen kwaad om naast het boek, een of twee zeer mooi afgewerkte exemplaren mee te brengen lijkt me.
