Drenched & Dollhouse marathon
Apr. 9th, 2012 08:49 amOn Saturday I was supposed to help out in Kaatsheuvel again, but on my way there I ran into a bit of a downpour. At first it wasn't so bad, (I had even hoped it would just blow over) but I thought I'd call ahead anyway. Rob told me the game was still on, a bit of rain wasn't going to stop them. I put my phone away and continued cycling.
Ten minutes later, as the water was dripping down my bra and my pants were soaked through and through, I decided to turn around and head home. First priority would be to get warm again. If I'd stood in the shower with my clothes on I'd be only a little more wet than I was, but a whole lot warmer.
The shower didn't get me much warmer very quickly. By the time I was home my legs were so cold the water in the shower running off my legs was freezing my toes (long live good shoes that keep your feet dry and warm). By the time I'd figured out a new way to get to Kaatsheuvel,
dolphirl and Rob looked at what still needed to be done and decided I should just stay home.
I was still cold, despite the hot steaming shower, so NoKey and I put on a DVD and watched most of the first season of Dollhouse, and we continued this the next day. We've worked our way through fifteen episodes or so since then. Still, I wished I could have done something more useful but I haven't been really warm since. In part to blame is probably my diet (energy conservation mode ON).
Today I'm off for an Easter brunch with my father. NoKey is still coughing his lungs out every now and then (mumble mumble wakes me up at mumble mumble) so he'll stay at home. I realised I have a date with Kat on Tuesday so I probably should finish my homework today as well. Unexpected school tomorrow, yay!
