Feeding Frenzy

janestarzThere's a bunch of jackdaws in my garden making an absolute mess of things. I recently ran out of bird food and bought a new bag of seeds somewhere that I didn't get the first bag from and there's been no living with them ever since.
I understand that the new bird food is not to their liking, but that's no reason to start on the balls of grease and seeds that I hung up for the great tits and other smaller birds! One of the jackdaws has chosen the feeding tray for its perch and it just loves to hang onto the rim while nigh hanging upside down trying to get his big beak into the ball hanging down the side of the tray. Three others are fighting in my hydrangea that has a few more of these balls. Two are looking up from underneath while a third one sits on the branch that has two balls suspended from it, and the branch is not strong enough for him so he's slowly getting closer to the other two, who will fight eachother to get at the ball.
It would be slapstick comedy if it wasn't so ungrateful of them. But hey, they're birds, what did I expect in any case?
