Phantasium
Feb. 27th, 2012 09:49 amYesterday I helped out Steelweaver and Twilightbanana at Phantasium. Their shop, The Queen Ring, had a very cute stall in the medieval corner, exactly the right place for a mixture of chainmail, jewelry and medieval tidbits. I always enjoy the fact that Steelweaver has a whole story behind each piece of reproduction jewelry, cloak clasps, fibula and belt concho's. To Twi's delight, their steampunk jewelry also sold well, and I had time to finish one sleeve/armpit of my chainmail.
It wasn't very busy except for a few moments when people at the stand attracted other people to come look at the stand and then more people were interested to see what the hubbub was about. Steelweaver sneaked out during the quiet of the morning to have a spin at Balfolk and in the afternoon I got some training at the swordfighting club across from where TQR was.
Phantasium had an interesting mix of stands again, some of the more standard merchandise mixed in with some really cute novelty stores.
diverteddreamer got her hands on sheepskins for the Anarquendor (most wanted brown ones and at € 30,- a piece they're quite cheap!) and next to a unakite necklace and a gift for Nathreee's husband I didn't buy anything else.
I did run into
laiv and his girlfriend, which was an pleasant surprise! I had just been wondering last week how he was doing since he doesn't use LJ anymore. Boo. But he was well and it was nice to see them in the Brabant area. I promised to come work in his garden soon.
Today will see me fit a mock-up on
wannabe_bitch, the cracked window will be replaced and my aunt and uncle might drop in. Busy day, but no school tonight. I will also need to pick up some groceries and vacuum the floor and furniture, but I can't really get started on that until they've replaced the window: men wearing big worker boots traipsing in and out.

Date: 2012-02-28 12:22 pm (UTC)I guess by helping out I get to enjoy the good times, while not having to do so much work. (I was stupid to forget about packing up; I'd promised to be home by dinnertime, but next time I'll definitely give them a hand.)
