Contacts and things
Dec. 13th, 2011 08:39 amYesterday in the tram, classmate Jeske (cousin to a Dutch fashion designer and all-around wonderful person who brightens up my day) said "Tjee, zij kan echt kneitergoed naaien" (Gee, she can sew wonderfully well!). Another classmate of mine might know someone who needs a seamstress. Too bad it's in the center of Rotterdam. On the other hand, any experience is way better than none at all!
Jeske is going to ask around for me as well, her family is from Tilburg so perhaps they know a store where they do bespoke work. I didn't dare ask if her uncle needed an intern. Now that the move is over, I am confident enough to start asking around for positions.
I am also going to pick up orders as of January first. If you need a custom garment, do call me!
Today will hopefully bring us the new refridgerator. I've cleared a spot, made room for the men-carrying-heavy-things and unloaded the old fridge.
In another point of vicotry: I cleaned all the DVDs and CDs yesterday, one by one, and dried them off, and alphabetised them before I put them in the bookcase. We have one whole shelf left that does not yet have any books.
I'm getting to the point that I'm going to have to unpack boxes into other boxes. NoKey is not going to get around to doing it anytime soon and the boxes need to go back to the movers. Hopefully I'll get around to that today. There's also minutes to be sent around, groceries to be done and I really hope to get rid of those boxes soon.
In other, facepalm-worthy news, the UWV does not yet realise it's less-than-optimal for me to have to come to Rotterdam for a "I'm three months unemployed and pathetic" meeting.
