janestarzIf there is one fruit I love, it's cherries. Of course I try and be a good girl and have an apple each day (and this greatly benefits my health!), but you can wake me up in the middle of the night for cherries. Cherries, cherries, cherries!
We actually have a cherry tree behind the apartment building and the cherries are near enough that I can use a broomstick to pull the cherries down if I wanted to. I don't have a clue if they're edible, and who planted the tree in the first place, but there's also an apple tree and a berry shrub nearby, so I sense a whole theme going. Could be someone just really loves birds, but we get so few birds here... and the cherries aren't ripe enough to eat yet.
But one of the largest super market chains in the Netherlands had a special bonus offer on cherries. 500 grammes of cherries for € 2,-. Now how can I say no to that? I bought my first pound* yesterday and I went back for three more. I bet I could eat two kilo's of cherries in two days, but I'm not going to try. They are great to munch on while watching Battlestar Galactica! They're better than popcorn!
So I've got cherries and you don't. Neener neener neener!
