After a very stressful day on Friday I will not elaborate about - working until two, picking up the car, doing groceries and then still packing a lot of shit, picking up the inflatable matrass at JW's and dropping mom off - we arrived at the Canadasweg in Uden around ten pm. Waaay late, later than I would have wanted. But it was allright.

First we made the beds and geared up, as far as you can speak about gearing up when you play wife of a samurai. Basically, it's just putting on terribly unhandy robes and slippers. Then we made our way downstairs, where the rest of the group was already playing. The cushions on the floor, small tables, and the daimyo on a big fat cushion at the head of the table.
Fridaynight wasn't much. We had the opportunity to speak to the ancestors, who would offer us some advice, and sitting in the "shrine" meditating did wonders for my energy levels. Tsubasa was told to stop gossiping and start focusing on what she was good at. Riiight.
Anyway, that night Ichiume turned her collar, and became full geisha. Her first assignment was the fan dance, which she learnt in only half an hour. The second was the tea ceremony at the wedding of the daimyo, and the third assignment was one she could decide on herself. I expected her to make a cord of kumihimo - she showed considerable interest in it when I was working my maru dai at the Summoning, but she surpassed all expectations and made a huge board with 3d images, showing the arts a geisha should know: fan dances, arranging flowers, tea ceremony, etc. Really cool, and a whole load of work.
We all enjoyed Sakaya's sushi...mmmmm sushi good.

From Friday to Saturday I really had a bad night's sleep. I was cold the whole night, but because I was so tired I slept anyway. Slept, but badly. *sigh*
Breakfast cheered me up a bit though. I got to demolish cheese. *grin*

Since the rest of the samurai would be training, I grabbed my tripod and camera, and shot all those nice pictures I plugged yesterday. Then I changed into hakama and kosode myself and shot bow with [livejournal.com profile] drahkan and his wife, and [livejournal.com profile] sneeuw_chan and his girl. We got filmed while shooting bow, shooting at the camera, shooting in a straight line, etc, etc. That was really cool.

Everyone was very very cold afterwards, and we went inside quickly for warmth and tea. Mineko, J, and me went into the kitchen after tea to prepare dinner, while there were some other quests going on. For one, Toshi was beaten up ...I mean...tested. Later that night he became the new hatamoto, a tremendous honor, especially since his character is only eightteen years old.

Then after the dinner, great great dinner, I got a big headache, and by the time the painkiller kicked in the plot continued. We were all to go outside, travel to the shrine of our ancestors, to get rid of the oni that were chasing after the soul of our daimyo. So outside we went, and most of the samurai got hurt sooner or later. When we finally arrived back at the house, Shiro was dying, and both Kaminari and Yomi were hurt badly. I quickly washed Kaminari's wound and went to help Ichiume with Shiro. He had a gash on his neck, and we had to stitch the wound closed. It took quite some doing, and the Daimyo's gentle touch with liquor, to get him back awake.
Shiro then thanked me. I said it was mostly Ichiume who did all the work. Then, Shiro-san turned to her and said his life belonged to her.
Which would have made some great gossip, if I were to do gossip.

Then we sewed up Kaminari and also Yasuo, who had tried to hide his wounds, but winced when I snuggled up to him, so I made him undress then and there, and sewed him up as well.

I think that about sums up the Yoshida weekend. I'm not much in the mood for typing, because I'm very cold and need tea. Also, there's still some laundry to unpack, and some groceries. I returned the car to mom, and we went shopping at the Sligro.
