I come bearing pictures!

Being very positive about my chances of getting around to sewing in the new atelier space last night, but of course I spent most of that time unpacking and creating the perfect socket solution. It turns out that if you want more than a 3 meter extension chord, the socket options are limited to having 6 or 8 sockets. I just wanted three, because we need a press, a steam iron, and something to make tea with. So three on one side and three on the other side should be more than enough.

In the end I bought 10 meters of power cable, two plugs and two three-socket boxes and went on ahead to DIY it. I have some experience with electrical stuff, and managed this fine. The hardest part was stripping the wires. I also ended up giving myself a blue thumb nail. But the cord runs over the plinth and the sockets are all tucked into the cupboards.

The atelier is only half-full, as Designed by Desiree will fill up the other half. She will also bring a cutting table, a press for interfacing and her own sewing desk. My mom will drop off a tall cupboard tonight, as she and Luc will come visit. You can see that I'm not really unpacked yet and there are two boxes right next to my sewing desk that hold fabrics I need for the first projects.

I really love my pressing station though! And the room! And how bright it is!
Today: inventory of fabric bolts, sewing two shirts for my mom and groceries, as they have requested macaroni for dinner.
