Back to the cutting table

My dye experiments kind of failed: the "terracotta" turned out to be more orange than brown and the "tartan green" didn't stick so the fabric is now light grey in stead of the natural white it started out with. At least I've got two nearly-matching rabbit skins that can go onto the coat, but I'll wait for final approval from the handsome gentleman who needs to wear it.

Still, stress levels abide. I was quiet at work today (oh no! How dare I!) which got my colleagues a bit worried and upset, but I was running down the lists while struggling with two eight-panel skirts.
For Eisirt I'm nearly done, so I'm picking up the remains. I'll try and finish mrtimmeys coat this evening (just needs buttonholes) and the two sleeveless shirts that Eisirt and I made a while back. That will clear them from my mind. Meanwhile, I can see if my old formal coat still fits well enough or whether I am actually crazy enough to take fabric and interfacing to work tomorrow so I can abuse the cutting table there to cut myself a formal coat. I could probably use the pattern from my gambeson.

I think it's probably wisest to stick to the promise I made myself that I would take it easy until Drachenfest and re-vamp and re-pimp the costume afterward. I remember promising myself that last year, and due to the year I've had I haven't sewn a stitch on it.
Still, one can hope. It's far too hot to bother anyway.

For tonight, there's finishing off the odd oddjob and doing the Drachenfest Info Document. Tomorrow Aurum will get a pair of new rear tires, which I hope I can wait for, what with my bus adventures of last Wednesday.
