Attic frenzy
Jan. 14th, 2012 03:39 pmNoKey and I tackled the attic today. I'd made a handsome start on it earlier this week, and I had some help from Lanzaned a month or so ago in setting up the cupboard.
We sorted through several boxes that were filled with time-in appropriate Kitchenwear. Flasks and bottles, cast iron frying pans, wooden plates, etc. We sorted it somewhat differently in some cases and packed it into a different, better suited, or larger box in other cases.
A cup of tea is by now well-deserved, I think!
Now if you enter the attic, to the left is a row of moving boxes: IT kitchen stuff, lesser-used costumes, the blue bins with Character assortment (whole costume and accessoiries in one bin) and four boxes of NoKey's electronic. Next to the window, straight ahead from the door, are four small wooden boxes with camp stoves, a small cabinet with regularly used trousers and undershirts, and a tall clothesrack covered in plastic for the longer costumes and armours. Behind the door, to the right, and under the slanting roof, are the weapons and more boxes piled into a cupboard. Staves are stored between cupboard and wall.
There's room to walk around and, as far as I can tell, no more need to sort through this particular room that houses all our larp junk.
What still needs doing:
- Several oil lamps might need repairing, according to NoKey;
- Several costumes that need some kind of repair have been moved to the atelier;
- Some of the airtight jars still hold chocolate paste, brown sugar, pancake syrup and in the case of one flask that was stored closed, a fungus culture that needs killing. These will be finished off if possible, cleaned (or disinfected, where needed) and then stored in of three (3!!) boxes holding IT crockery.
- I need a new suitcase as the ones I have from our trip to Malta some twelve years ago put a crick in my spine and will be discarded. This can wait as we're not ones to fly or go on vacation often.
- Additional elf ears will need to be gathered from where they are currently floating around in the house and stored in the make-up suitcase that also holds the vampire fangs and fake blood.
