I'm currently being crushed by an afterlarpdip the size of Sweden (roughly), but I feel the need to update.
For the past three Omens (this one included) I've felt less enthusiastic about the role I played. Somehow the fun was gone for me, and it felt like I was just going so the others would not miss their captain. But there was little reason for me to go, there was very little I still wanted to accomplish within the setting.

I've tried making plans, but they only half came to fruition. Even orders from the GMs (woodelf army) didn't change the fact that nothing really seemed to pull us back together as a group. And by the time Saturday afternoon came rolling around I made a decision. I told myself "I don't want this anymore."
Of course, once you reach this point you try to locate the GMs and a mass-battle was just starting. I had a cup of tomato soup in my hands and decided to forego fighting. As for the Anarquendor: it didn't look any different than when I was in there with them. Well, except for the fact that Dreek went man-down in a nasty manner (patella luxation... argh!), but there wasn't a thing I could have done about that.

I'm probably not going to blog about the exit of Beriadanwen. I only said goodbye to a few people in character, and the rest will find out by themselves what happened. I don't know if my new character deserves a blogpost of her own either, so I might just leave it at this. After all, she's the silent type.

The concept for my new character came to me the Thursday before the event and is about three quarters of a page long. GMs gave me a pretty cool start into the game, free rein over my current skills (they don't complain if you interpret your hitpoints to be lower than they actually are) and in return I'm pretty much giving them a carte blanche about the background. Trust is a wonderful thing.
The only things I wrote down about this new character is that she's forgotten pretty much everything except how breathing goes and how this came to pass. She doesn't have a name, and she's very helpful (and a little goofy at some point). Some players really dove into whoever she is, and by now I've got a temporary name (Florence the Altruist) and a tent to sleep in. For the rest, I seem to have adopted helping out the healers and I helped operate on a scientist. And handed out bandages, carried water, cleaned up the bar and wrapped a paladin in my cloak. *grin*
(And maybe I am taking this silent character a little too much as my role model? Especially that moment at 3:15-3:25 I love so dearly....ah well, as role models go, you could do worse!)

Two things really stand out for me from last weekend.
- Arto immediately recognising my dress as being a medieval kirtle and complimenting me on it. (Yay!)
- People remarking on how much fun I'm having in my new role.

Goodbye Beriadanwen, hello Unnamed!
